Jo Malone built Blackberry and Bay Perfume, a fruity green Eau De Cologne, around the feeling of an autumn hedgerow walk, blackberry, grapefruit, black currant, and buchu arriving dark and unmistakably fruity from the very first spray. Bay leaf, galbanum, leafy green notes, and light floral hints move the whole composition into calm, herbal middle territory that keeps developing steadily as it settles further into the skin. Cedarwood and vetiver give the entire dry down its woody, dry character, a finish that lingers gently for many hours. It suits daily wear especially well through the cooler months, evocative rather than abstract about its own countryside inspired concept.
