Gourmand excess rather than traditional freshness defines A Men Cologne, one of the boldest fragrances Thierry Mugler ever released for men. Lavender, mint, fruity notes, spicy notes, coriander, green notes, and bergamot kick off with a chaotic, energetic freshness that hints at the intensity ahead. Caramel, patchouli, honey, milk, cedar, jasmine, and lily of the valley give the heart an unusually sweet, almost dessert like accord. Coffee, patchouli, vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin, amber, and sandalwood resolve into an extraordinarily rich, dark gourmand base. As an oriental gourmand fragrance, A Men suits nightlife and cold weather wear especially well, where its intensity feels purposeful rather than excessive. Thierry Mugler built this cologne to provoke rather than please quietly, and it remains a notable cult favorite among fragrance enthusiasts. A single spray tends to project strongly for several hours, so restraint is distinctly advised here.
