Tom Ford built Black Orchid Perfume, a floral Parfum, around dark luxury, truffle and plum arriving rich and immediately unusual from the very first opening spray of the day. Ylang and black orchid deepen that richness through the entire middle, exotic and floral without the composition ever losing its early, intensity as it continues to develop. Patchouli alone grounds the entire dry down, dense and earthy, letting the fragrance settle into something dramatic rather than overly simple or plain in character. It suits formal occasions and evening wear especially well, rewarding real patience with its layered depth over time.
