Dark Chocolate Perfume skips the usual sweet gourmand playbook entirely for something more grown up, bitter dark cocoa and roasted coffee arriving rich and immediately unmistakable rather than saccharine. Melted chocolate and vanilla bean carry that richness through the entire middle, dense and indulgent without ever feeling childish or overly one note. Sweet amber and creamy tonka ground the entire dry down in warm, comforting richness that lingers pleasantly for many long hours afterward and beyond. Cooler months and relaxed casual wear both suit this gourmand cologne especially well, indulgent rather than merely sweet about its own considerable depth. Demeter proved bitter and sweet can genuinely coexist together in one single bottle, the two turning out not to be true opposites at all.
