Wormwood rarely shows up in mainstream fragrance, yet Davidoff leads Hot Water Cologne with exactly that bitter, herbal note alongside basil, sharp and immediately unconventional. Paprika and patchouli carry the middle into notably spiced, earthy territory that keeps the fragrance interesting rather than predictable throughout the entire wear. Benzoin and styrax close the base in warm, resinous depth that lingers for hours once the sharper opening has faded into something considerably softer. This aromatic spiced Eau De Toilette suits evening wear and cooler months especially well, distinctive rather than safe about its own identity. Davidoff composed something distinctly unusual here, bitter, spiced, and confidently willing to lead with a note most other houses would bury much further down the list.
