Santal Wood promises something simple in its name and delivers something considerably more complex instead, cumin, cardamom, and marigold arriving spiced and immediately warm rather than plainly woody. Rose, cedar, ginger, and jasmine carry that complexity through the middle, spiced and floral without the composition ever feeling predictable. Sandalwood, agarwood oud, and patchouli ground the dry down in dense, resinous richness that lasts for many long hours after the spice above has settled. Evening wear and grand formal occasions both suit this woody oriental Eau De Parfum especially well, spiced rather than plainly woody despite what the name suggests. Ajmal built something the understated name barely hints at, considerably more layered and complex on skin than its plain title ever suggests.
